If you’ve been patiently waiting for the final tally up of information on the games for Conception then we appreciate your patience and this is what you’ve been waiting for
These are the fabulous games on offer this year. Many thanks to Sue, Fi and Nickey for putting them on for all of us. If you would like to play one or more of these games please contact Julian with your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice clearly listed by email from 7.30pm on Wednesday 7th December 2011. He will then endeavor to make sure as many people get their first choice as possible and pass on the roster of players to the GMs so characters can be sorted out. We hope we can do this as swiftly and painlessly as possible to allow things to get sorted before Christmas gets in the way.
Please contact Julian by email on julian.hayley@virgin.net.
- Collision Imminent!: Can someone turn that alarm off? Please report to your assigned lifepod station immediately… Have you seen Fifi? Why does that engineer look worried? …where a trained and friendly Imagineerium™ starship cruise line crewmember will help you… Did you hear that thump? COLLISION IMMINENT! What do you mean I can’t get another Rigellian Core Meltdown to go? What am I supposed to drink while I wait? Is the air getting thin in here? …to safely board a lifepod that will carry you to rescue in the unlikely event of an actual evacuation… COLLISION IMMINENT! Will an officer please report to the Leo Deck? Daddy? Do you know where my Daddy is? Please do not panic! COLLISION IMMINENT! Come join the unexpected end of the maiden voyage on the newest and most luxurious starliner of the Imagineerium™ fleet. Play one of the crew or several of the passengers in this fast-paced horde style LARP that was a smash hit at Intercon 15.5, Intercon A, Arisia 2003, OurCon XII, WPI, Dexcon VII and Intercon G! Collision Imminent! is a horde-style game. There are a limited number of parts designed to run through the entire course of the game. There are a significantly larger set of small parts – characters who come on, do some kind of character bit, and then exit. Players in the “horde” get to do many of these roles during the course of the game. There isn’t any waiting around for the horde – we’re trying to simulate a whole spaceliner full of strange and interesting passengers – so there’s lots to do! A Horde game for 20-40 people, 4 hours, in the bar running on Saturday afternoon.
- Flimsey Turrets: Sometimes the only way to get through an awkward situation is NOT to let people know exactly what is going on. Unpalatable as you obviously find it, during the course of this evening you may have to lie. Tonight is the dinner to mark the re-opening of Flimsey Turrets, a long running family oriented hotel on the south coast. You’re really looking forward to it. There seem to be very few staff but that may just be that they are keeping out of the way. There has been a lot of work done to upgrade the facilities so it should be an experience to remember. Flimsey Turrets is a Freeform Live Roleplay game for sixteen to twenty four people. No previous knowledge of Freeform games or other games systems is required. Emphasis is very much on the roleplay element. Costuming is welcomed but not essential and will be mainly evening dress. Players should be over sixteen. This game is running on Friday evening. Presented by “The Usual Suspects”
- Come Hel or Hiawatha: There have been many rumours of Viking tribes who have made their way over the seas to a land of milk and honey they called Vinland. This is the saga of one such, the Clan of Ragnar, who have braved the Northern seas to try and make a new life in the mysterious lands to the west. And it is the tale of the Chikasaw, the tribe who sees the interlopers coming from the sea. They are rich in sky metal, but are they really favoured of the spirits? Only time will tell in this game for 13 players, in which Viking faces Indian, each one determined to prevail. This is a two hour game for 13 players: This will run on Friday afternoon. 3 female, 7 male, 3 neutral players required
Please remember to pass this information on to anyone you know who might want to be in any of these games that perhaps doesn’t visit the website regularly and if people could refrain from sending in their game choices until Wednesday evening, we’d be very grateful.
